WFDF newsletter Archives Updated
10 July 2013
WFDF is pleased to announce that it is making publicly available a significant part of its history. The WFDF Newsletters from 1985 to 1996 have been digitally scanned and are now available on the web site. Johan Lindgren, who had served as WFDF Secretary from 1985 to 1994 had singlehandedly prepared and distributed between one and four newsletters in each year of his tenure. Lindgren also served as Treasurer from 1989 to 1998.
“We are really excited to be able to share so much of the early history of WFDF and international disc sports,” stated WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “I was excited when I contacted Johan and he confirmed that he had a complete archive of the Newsletters in paper form for that period. We have come a long ways over the last nearly 30 years and this archive provides a useful perspective in light of our recent recognition by the IOC. Johan himself deserves to be recognized for the very important contribution he made to WFDF and global disc sports, as it was his steady presence, dedication, and hard work that sustained WFDF in its formative first decade.”
The Newsletter archive can be found here.
