WFDF Seeks a Director of Communications and Global Media

In Official Communication, Press Release * Official Communication by WFDF

WFDF is establishing a new position of Director of Communications and Global Media and is seeking interested candidates.  The Director would assist the executive staff and officers in writing press releases, identifying content and managing WFDF’s Facebook and Twitter pages, establishing a youtube and/or other video presence, and ensuring that WFDF takes advantage of the evolving opportunities in social media in order to better communicate with all of WFDF’s stakeholders and audience.  This is a volunteer (unpaid) position but this will be a high impact role in raising the visibility of flying disc sports globally within the disc community and the general population.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in communications and social media and a demonstrated understanding of disc sports promotion.  Basic video production skills would also be a plus.  Excellent writing skills are an imperative as is fluency in English.  Candidates should be comfortable working independently on a virtual real-time basis while at the same time working with multiple constituencies in a not-for-profit environment.  While flexible, candidates should be willing to devote 5-10 hours per week to the position in order to perform the duties properly.

Interested candidates should submit a CV and cover letter by no later than Tuesday May 5, 2015.  The cover letter should summarize the candidate’s qualifications and reasons for interest in the position.  Further, we ask that all candidates review WFDF’s Facebook page and web site and provide a summary assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the current content and approach.  Submissions should be sent to [email protected].  Any questions can be directed to Robert “Nob” Rauch, WFDF President, at [email protected].
