WFDF is pleased to announce that it has published 2014 annual census of its member associations.  The census, which has been done continually since 2002, reports that there were 145,592 athletes who were members of the 60 disc sports associations in 56 countries that are members of WFDF.  Of the total, 29% are women, 16% are under 19, and 16% are over 35.

In addition to reporting on total numbers, the Census includes a significant amount of data on participation per each flying disc discipline, in addition to a snapshot of the finances and governance structures of the various Members associations and the scope of member services.

“WFDF is pleased to release this census data, now for the 13th year in a row, in order to promote transparency and openness in our global governance of disc sports,” stated WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “This represents 23% headline growth year over year among our elite athletes, although the numbers are a bit skewed this year with the PDGA rejoining WFDF.  We know that this reporting takes our members associations a fair amount of time but we find it incredibly useful in monitoring our growth and development and believe it is well worth the effort.”

Detailed summary results are provided in the published report which can be accessed here (link).
