WELCOME to the new WFDF official website
Written by Robert L. "Nob" Rauch, WFDF President
26 November 2011
It is my pleasure to introduce the new official World Flying Disc Federation website in its beta version. The website has been developed with “joomla” and was developed by Andre Kruse of Germany and our Executive Director Volker Bernardi. We ask that you check out the new site and provide any comments or suggestions to our Executive Director. During this beta test, the new website will be run at www.wfdf.net while the old site will be maintained at www.wfdf.org. Our old site will be run in parallel over the next six weeks until we make a final transition at year end, at which point we will consolidate the new site at our dot org address.
This re-launch of the official communication tool of the WFDF is a first step of several in our attempt to utilize the modern communication channels that have been developed over the last decade. The new website will be a work in progress for some time and will eventually feature an up-to-date content management system and many other tools to support the administrative work of WFDF and communicate to our member associations, athletes, players and fans.
Please be sure to give us your feedback a soon as possible so that we can ensure the new site is fully functional, and we encourage suggestions on enhancements that would make it even more effective as a communication and information tool.

WFDF had established its first ever Athletes’ Commission with elections held during the WUGC 2012 in Sakai, Japan. As the initial term of the Commission members comes to an end in 2014 during World Ultimate Club Championships (WUCC), WFDF is now putting out a new call for nominations for the Athletes’ Commission to be voted on by the participating athletes at the WFDF 2014 WUCC in Lecco, Italy.
The WFDF Athletes’ Commission was established to promote open communication with, and solicit feedback from, current elite flying disc athletes, and give them a formal role in the decision-making process of WFDF. The WFDF Athletes’ Commission has as its main focus the issues facing athletes in the sport of Ultimate, as this is our largest disc sport constituency and the one that is involved in the World Games.
