President
Tasks
- Chair Board and Executive Committee meetings and the annual Congress
- Oversee activities of Executive Director and other consultants and
volunteer staff
- Develop WFDF’s strategic plan and set the agenda for Congress, Board, and
Executive Committee meetings
- Develop one-year operational plans
- Act as spokesperson for WFDF and direct WFDF's relations to external
organizations
- The President shall be the chief executive officer of WFDF. (by-laws)
- The Board of Directors may authorize the President to enter into or execute
and deliver any instrument in the name of and on behalf of WFDF. Such authority
may be general or confined to specific instances. (by-laws)

Secretary
Tasks
- Serve as a member of the Executive Committee (with a monthly conference
call), involving strategic definition and review of day-to-day activities of
Executive Director
- Supervise and develop membership services
- Oversee organization of annual Congress (give notice and call for agenda
items, collect and distribute Congress materials)
- Ensure minutes are taken at meetings of the Executive Committee, Board,
and Congress (oversee Executive Director), obtain revisions and approvals, and
distribute
- The Secretary shall have the duty to see that all notices are duly given
in accordance with the provisions of the Bylaws or as required by law, shall
keep the minutes of the meetings of the Board of Directors and the Congress
in a book or books provided for such purposes, and shall maintain a file of
such other books and papers of WFDF as the Board of Directors may direct. (by-laws)

periodic reports as may be required under state law. (by-laws)

Treasurer
Tasks
- Serve as a member of the Executive Committee (with a monthly conference
call), involving strategic definition and review of day-to-day activities of
Executive Director
- Chair Standing Finance Committee
- Develop Budget
- Propose membership fees
- Monitor the collection of WFDF receivables
- Supervise accounting
- Supervise financial reporting and distribute a quaterly financial report
to the Board
- Prepare WFDF annual financial report for Congress
- Authorize paying of WFDF bills
- Ensure that WFDF obligations to the relevant tax authorities are met
- Research legal/liability issues
- serve on the Working Committee and shall act as the treasurer and controller
of WFDF. (by-laws)
- have the care and custody of all the funds and securities of WFDF. (by-laws)
- deposit all such funds in the name of WFDF in such bank or trust company
as the Board of Directors may elect. (by-laws)
- keep an account of all monies received and expended for use of WFDF, (by-laws)
- sign all checks, drafts, notes and orders for the payment of money authorized
by the Board of Directors. (by-laws)
- also negotiate all loans and/or other financial transactions on behalf of
WFDF at the direction of the Board. (by-laws)
- maintain an up-to-date list of members in good standing,
- present a report on the financial affairs of WFDF to the annual meetings
of the Congress and the Board of Directors, (by-laws)
- be responsible for the filing of all tax returns (if any) as may be required
from time to time. (by-laws)
- prepare a report to the membership to be published in the newsletter each
year. (by-laws)
- The Board may, in its sole discretion, authorize the Treasurer to make such
payments as may be customary and normal in the ordinary course of business;
all extraordinary disbursements must be approved by the Working Committee, subject
to the discretion of the Board. (by-laws)

Ultimate Committee Chair
Tasks
- Chair ultimate committee discussions
- World Games liaison for ultimate competition
- Maintain WFDF version of the rules of ultimate
- Develop and implement eligibility rules
- Develop and implement sanctioned event formats, schedules and seeding
- Chair sanctioned event captain's meeting and tournament rules committee
- Liaise with other international ultimate organisations - BULA, EFDF, IGO
- Handle disabled athlete issues
- Read all correspondence on wfdfultimate mailing list
- The Ultimate Committee shall address such issues as may affect
participants in Ultimate and oversee the world championship competitions, which shall be held in accordance with policies
established by the Congress. (by-laws)
- Bids for such world championships shall be solicited and approved by the
Ultimate Committee or a subcommittee designated for such purpose,
subject to the approval of the Board. (by-laws)
- All decisions of the Ultimate Committee may be appealed to the Board,
and the rulings of the Board on such matters shall be subject to approval
by the Congress. (by-laws)

- Maintain WFDF version of the rules of overall competitions

- Develop and implement sanctioned event formats, schedules and seeding
- Chair sanctioned event players meeting and tournament rules committee
- Handle disabled athlete issues
- The Overall Committee shall address such issues as may affect
participants in overall disc sports and oversee the world championship
competitions in each of the individual disc sports, which shall be held in
accordance with policies established by the Congress. (by-laws)
- Bids for such world championships shall be solicited and approved by the
Overall Committee or a subcommittee designated for such purpose,
subject to the approval of the Congress. (by-laws)
- The Overall Committee shall also have responsibility for
maintaining world records, and for proposing revisions to the standards for
such world records. (by-laws)

- Liaise with other international guts organisations
- Handle disabled athlete issue
- The Guts Committee shall address such issues as may affect
participants in Guts and oversee the world championship
competitions, which shall be held in
accordance with policies established by the Congress. (by-laws)
- Bids for such world championships shall be solicited and approved by the
Guts Committee or a subcommittee designated for such purpose,
subject to the approval of the Congress. (by-laws)
- The Guts Committee shall also have responsibility for
maintaining world records, and for proposing revisions to the standards for

Board Member
Tasks
- Normal Board Member participation (4-6 conference calls per year) and
expectation of turnaround on e-mail correspondence within five (5) business
days
- Approve event hosts and sanctioning
- Approve new members
- Approve policies and contracts
- Special project oversight, as agreed

From the election policy, candidates agree to:
- Active enthusiasm and commitment.
- Serve a global community - all regions, all flying disc disciplines.
- Read and refer to the Bylaws and other organizational documents. Make decisions
on behalf of the WFDF mission.
- Regular access to e-mail and the Internet. Read e-mail at least once a
week. Expected weekly e-mail volume is approximately 1-3 hours and could vary
depending on time of year. E-mail & votes/polls response 1 week (7 days).
- Communicate WFDF business in fluent English.
- Keep board communication confidential. Get author approval to forward.
- Inform the Executive Committee (ExCom) of planned absences including holidays/vacations
as soon as known.
- Be available for scheduled conference calls (about 4 per year), which could
be at unusual times due to Directors living in different time zones.
- Learn and follow WFDF policies. Work toward creation, update, and approval
of policies for good governance where needed. Be prepared to follow a Conflict
of Interest (COI) policy, which may require reasonable disclosures like financial
dealings with other organizations
- Not to engage in criminal behavior (organizational/corporate). Traffic
tickets, for example, would not be a WFDF concern unless driving a WFDF vehicle,
which we do not have. Properly identify and report relevant criminal behavior
of any WFDF person or WFDF member. We have not had an issue here, but seen
a prominent example in another international sport federation (IF).
- Resign if consistently unable or unwilling to meet minimum Board requirements.
- Finally, remember the reasons you first started to play flying disc sports.
Keep these alive in your decision-making, among the board, and in your interactions
with WFDF members and the world.
