Fumio (Moro) MOROOKA

Nominated by: Japan Flying Disc Association (JFDA)

Position sought: at-large Director / Board Member

Email address: morooka at k05 dot itscom dot net

I'm Fumio Morooka(MORO), Present WFDF Board Member & Vice President of Japan Flying Disc Association. Last 25 years I have taught over 20,000 students Flying Disc as PhysicalEducation Professor of Sophia University. I experienced TD for WUGC1992 Utsunomiya and TD for World Games 2001 Akita.

Since 1994, I have attended GAISF (General Association of International Sports Federations) & IWGA (International World Games Association) General Meetings to deveop Flying Disc as Recognized Sport in International Sports Society with my own expense. WFDF could become regular member of GAISF & IWGA in 1995, and Flying Disc became Medal Sports of World Games in 2001.

In World Games, only 6 countries could participate, but the Flying Disc games were broadcasted in over 130 countries in 2001. And IOC Vice President, IOC Executive Director, IOC members and many National Sports Associations executives experienced Flying Disc in Akita. Memberships of GAISF & IWGA and World recognition are very important to develop Flying Disc in the world( especially in undeveloped countries, Africa & Asia). We should keep our status.

I do want to develop Flying Disc in more countries. I can use my international human network which I have created in GAISF & IWGA last 10 years. I'd like to work for Asian countries especially. I think WFDF should have at least one Asian Board Member. Please re-elect me, and make it possible to attend GAISF & IWGA meetings to get more recognition and support in International Sports Society.
