Aloha,
My name is Dave Polderman, I will be the field coordinator for HUI2002.
The position I have volunteered for (with 175 grams pressed firmly against
my throat by·Grant Wise) could quite possibly require more volunteer help
than any other of the categories, come play time. My message to you is
simple, "HELP". I will be looking
for lots of volunteers. We
will need to line fields, remove rubbish, fill water jugs, set up tents,
take down tents, report all scores of all games, schedule all games, and
post all standings. We are currently working on various levels of compensation
based on how much time you can give. Please send me an e-mail with any
questions you might have or if you arer just curious. Friends have asked
me why I took a position like this. What better way is there to give back
to a family that has given me so much?
June 6 plea from Dave Plolderman:
Aloha Ultimate players, family and friends!
We currently have positions available for spirited volunteers looking
for a fun week in Hawaii. HUI2002 is offering a room (to share) for
field volunteers (only) interested in working three 6-hour shifts every
two days. There will be two 6-hour shifts each day.
We need help filling water coolers, disposing trash, general field
help, and most of all scorekeeping. All volunteers under this offer
will be required to learn how to keep score. It's not too tough, just
some reading prior to your arrival.
This offer will get you into all the parties free of charge. You
will also be provided with a meal voucher for each shift you work, as
well as a field staff T-shirt, hat and volunteer only, pick up games.
Volunteers will be selected on a first come first serve basis. If you
have any questions or just curious, please contact me at podawg@hui2002.org
Mahalo (thank you in Hawaiian)
