Discs for play at WUCC 2002
As you know, we currently have three discs that have been approved for WFDF ultimate play. At the current time, it appears that the Wham-O Tool will not be available at WUCC, so only the Discraft UltraStar and the Innova Pulsar will be used as official discs. Under the current rules, the procedure for selection of a disc for each game is:

403 Equipment
403.01 Disc: Any flying disc may be used as long as it is acceptable to both team captains and meets the requirements set forth in Article I of the WFDF rules. If the captains cannot agree, a disc designated by the WFDF Ultimate Committee as an official disc for the event shall be used. If no such disc has been designated, any disc designated by the WFDF Ultimate Committee as an approved disc for ultimate play shall be used. If the teams cannot agree upon a specific approved disc for play, two options are available:
(1) each team shall supply one approved disc for one half of the game using the disc flipping method (104.03) to determine the order of use; or;
(2) if that solution is not acceptable to both teams they shall resolve the disagreement through the disc flipping method. The team winning the flip shall then supply the approved disc for the entire game.

Of course, there will be a supply of both official discs for play.

The specific ground rules for disc selection at WUCC are just as they were for World Games in Akita and are as follows:

WFDF 2002 official ultimate discs include the Discraft Ultra-Star and the Innova Pulsar. The disc(s) to be used for each match is decided by the captains of the two teams. The captains must meet to make the disc selection for their match either at the captains' meeting or, if agreement for a match is not completed at that meeting, the captains must meet and provide the disc selection decision to the head ultimate official no later than 45 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the match in question. At the captains' meeting each team will have a form to fill out a form to fill out which designates their choice for all games or or leaves the designation open to be provided to the official at least 45 minutes prior to the start of the game.
