Business Director

Hello! My name is Deirdre Abrahamsson (formerly known as Deirdre Morris - before October 13, 2001), and I am the Business Director for Worlds this summer. I am originally from Queens, NY, and, after competing in Track and Field in High School and at the University of
Pennsylvania, started playing Ultimate in Philadelphia. I had the pleasure and honor of partying
it up at Worlds in Vancouver in 1997 and again in Heilbronn with the Irish Coed Team in 2000. Lived in Barcelona for a stint playing with the Patatas Bravas in tournaments around Europe and on the sunny (sometimes Rocky) beach of Castelldefells. I have played in tournaments in France, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy (where I met my Ultimate-playing Swedish husband).

Currently I am residing in Salt Lake City where I just finished a position as General Manager for one of the non-competition venues with the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. I have been working in various aspects of sport and event management for the past six years, and I am eager to bring my experience and enthusiasm to Oahu this summer.

My primary role as Business Director is to oversee all finances of HUI. I will work with the other Directors to monitor the budget and manage all Accounts Payable procedures. Working with me as Accounts Payable Manager is local Ultimate player (and Accountant) Nancy Lacuesta.

Tournament Registration is also under my domain, and, together with Kristi Asmus, Registration Manager, we are working to create an efficient process for over 2,000 players upon their arrival in Oahu.
